Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains how The Port Of Joy handles personal data on this storefront. The Port Of Joy is the data controller for brand and storefront activity. Shopify checkout, customer account and contact services may also be governed by the main The Port Of Joy policies on the shop’s main privacy policy.
Information we use here
This storefront shows products and prices for your region, and sends you to Shopify for checkout. You can choose whether to allow optional cookies for product messages. This storefront does not process card details or create customer accounts.
- Your choice to accept or reject optional cookies.
- A random browser ID, only if you accept optional cookies.
- A product-message choice from a link cookie, used for these messages only while optional cookies are accepted.
- Your region and currency choice.
- Approximate country information sent with your visit, used to choose the region for prices.
- Which product and option you save, their names, a quantity of one, and the time you save them, if you choose Save selection. This stays in your browser as described below and does not contain contact, payment, or Shopify cart data.
- Newsletter signup in the retail shop is currently unavailable. Preview newsletter forms save an email address and consent on this storefront, without subscribing it to Shopify.
- Email address and which piece you asked about, if you use Notify me on a piece that is still coming. That is a request for one email about one piece, and is not a newsletter sign-up. In previews it stays on this storefront. When restock emails are available in the retail shop, Notify me also asks which size you want, and the request goes to STOQ, the restock notification service the shop uses.
- Order, delivery, payment, and customer account details if you continue into Shopify checkout or account pages.

Cookies
See the Cookie Policy for the storefront cookies used for these choices and messages. Your currency cookie works whether you accept or reject optional cookies. Choosing Reject optional cookies clears the browser ID and stops the link cookie from being used for product messages. It does not delete the link cookie. If you accept again before that cookie expires, this site can use it again for product messages. After STOQ accepts a Notify me request, a short confirmation cookie, also listed there, lets this browser show that the request was accepted. It holds no email address.
Your saved product selection
Save selection is optional. It keeps one product and its selected option in this browser so you can reopen checkout review. The site saves these details in browser storage only when you choose Save selection. Saving a selection does not create a cart, reserve items, or send the selection to Shopify.
When this site reads your saved selection, it checks its age. If it is more than 24 hours old or cannot be used, the site stops using it and tries to remove it from this browser. Old data may stay in your browser until this check runs and removal succeeds.
Sharing
The Port Of Joy uses service providers to operate the storefront, host the site, serve Shopify checkout, and fulfil customer requests. This storefront does not sell personal data.
Newsletter signup in the retail shop is currently unavailable. Newsletter forms in previews save an address on this storefront's own hosting; they do not subscribe it to Shopify or send a confirmation or welcome email. When restock emails are available in the retail shop, Notify me sends your email address and the piece and size you chose to STOQ, which holds the request so it can send one notification email, without general marketing consent. This storefront keeps no separate copy of that request. In previews, an address submitted through Notify me is stored on this storefront's own hosting, with the piece requested and without general marketing consent. That record alone does not send a notification.
Retention
Storefront cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy. The unsubscribe page records a request to leave this storefront's locally saved newsletter and Notify me lists. It keeps a record that the address asked to leave and removes the address from the local active counts. It does not unsubscribe you from Shopify or another email provider, withdraw a Notify me request held by STOQ, or confirm that provider email has stopped. Leaving does not delete anything: the address you signed up with, and that record, are kept until you ask for it to be deleted, through the contact route below, unless a longer period is required for legal or operational reasons. For newsletter subscriptions held by Shopify or another email provider, including signups made before this storefront, use the unsubscribe link in that provider's email. For help, to withdraw a Notify me request held by STOQ, or to request removal of a local Notify me record, write to info@theportofjoy.com. Order records are kept as needed to fulfil purchases, handle returns or support, and meet accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Contact
For privacy questions or rights requests, contact The Port Of Joy through the main contact page. If the main privacy policy lists a more specific privacy contact, use that route for the fastest handling.
